The citizenship test, indfødsretsprøven, has 45 multiple-choice questions in Danish, and you have 45 minutes. This free practice test works the same way, with our own questions written from the official study material, so you can find out if you would pass and what to read again.
In short
- Like the real test: 45 questions with two or three answers, 45 minutes, no aids.
- Questions 1-35: from the official study material, Læremateriale til Indfødsretsprøven (the August 2026 edition, used for the tests in winter 2026 and summer 2027).
- Questions 36-40: in the real test they are about the news of the last six months. We cannot know those questions, so ours are about recent Danish history instead.
- Questions 41-45: Danish values, mostly yes or no, about what Danish law allows.
- To pass: at least 36 right, including at least 4 of the 5 values questions. The practice test tells you if you would pass.
How the practice test works
Sign up for free, and the test starts behind your login, so your answers are saved as you go and you can take a break. When you hand in, you see your score, whether you would pass, and every question you missed with a hint and the page in the study material where the answer is. Take a new test, and you get new questions.
Our questions are our own. The state publishes the old tests with answers on its website, and they are worth doing too, but questions do not come back word for word, so it is the study material you need to know.
How to prepare
- Read the study material chapter by chapter. History is the longest chapter and gives the most questions.
- Take a practice test early, before you have read everything: it shows where you stand and which chapters to read first.
- Follow the Danish news in the last months before the test, for questions 36-40.
- The questions are in Danish at the level of Prøve i Dansk 3, which you also need for citizenship.
